Glamour headshots
Glamour headshots must highlight all the positive features of your face, eyes, lips, hair, and everything else. Our experience in fashion and advertising photography, combined with your vision and personality, creates headshots that stand out. Every bit of creative control makes a difference: posing direction, lighting technique and makeup. Perfect makeup, fine-tuned lighting, gentle posing directions, a good working atmosphere, and advertising-quality retouching are the essential ingredients of glamour headshot although they remain invisible in the final products.
Many of our clients are professional hair stylists, makeup artists and musicians who need striking images for advertising, portfolios, album covers and other publicity, and individuals who wish to emphasize their unique personal glamour.
Vintage-style portraits (1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s look)
With crisp contrast, bold composition and timeless appeal, portraits in the vintage 50’s and 60’s styles attract attention. This classic style is often used to convey the sense that your character, products, or services being illustrated are well established. We at Beaupix specialize in re-creating the studio lighting, photographic production, makeup and hairstyles of this iconic era. Combined with our modern studio setup and state-of-the-art digital editing system, we have truly attained the best of both worlds.
This headshot style is popular among performers and musicians whose styles are inspired by 1950s and 1960s culture.
Tips for good headshots
Many clients (including the ones who allowed us to use their photos on this website) initially told me that they have never enjoyed taking photos of themselves and have never liked the outcome, even with some well-known photographers. This is a common story but it absolutely does not have to be. Some people feel more ease when they learn how to take good headshots and prepare for the shoot. It is not a lot of work and can save you a lot of worry.
For women, good makeup work is definitely an important part of your headshot, and I do recommend a professional makeup artist. If you get a better headshot that you can use more extensively, it is a valuable investment. However, many sample photographs you see on this site were taken with the makeup work done by the clients themselves. Here are tips on makeup for headshots I recommend if you choose to do the makeup yourself.
