Headshots captured on film

Although few use it in professional photography, film photography still offers advantages when it comes to creating the classic look of gentle gradation and bright but gentle skin tone.

Beaupix photographer Ryuji Suzuki has experience shooting and developing film for 16 years, winning several awards and exhibited prints he made in his environmentally friendly darkroom. He is still set up to shoot and develop film like pre-digital days! The only difference is that the image can be scanned so that the images can be used on websites and any other way you do with digital images.

B&W film photography has strengths in the aesthetics of the finished image. This advantage is obvious, even if the scanned and Photoshopped image is posted on website. The advantage of film photography is probably most obvious when shooting candids, environmental portraits, editorial style portraits, fashion and outdoor shots in general. Depending on whether you’re looking for super-modern, traditional or vintage feel, we have well maintained cameras as old as 1953 or as current as 1990s.

However, digital photography maintains undeniable advantage in convenience, such as short turn-around time. So, this option is not for everyone. But it is certainly an interesting addition if you’re intrigued by this idea.

Besides technical aspects, the remaining few professional photographers generally agree that they have different style when shooting film. Those who started photography without digital technology and then completely adapted to the digital era, feel different, when they stand behind their film equipment.

B&W film capture is not recommended for everyone. Those who are seriously interested are encouraged to call and receive telephone consultation.
