Why does emotional expression matter?

People remember pictures with emotional expression better than just plain flattering or borderline sexy shots. Showing a range of expressions makes you more marketable.

For actors’ audition headshots, there seem to be two different camps. One says good headshots should show emotional expression, rather than a plain, flattering face.
